The NTRCFL opened for business in 2000 and has provided exceptional digital forensics services and training to 150 law enforcement agencies in North Texas. The NTRCFL is managed by seven law enforcement agencies in our region, and we are always looking for new partners to join us. What is an RCFL?
An RCFL is a one-stop, full service forensics laboratory and training center devoted entirely to the examination of digital evidence in support of criminal investigations. The NTRCFL supports investigations into such crimes as, but not limited to—
- Terrorism
- Child Pornography
- Homicide
- Violent Crimes
- The Theft or Destruction of Intellectual Property
- Internet Crime
- Fraud.

In the News —
Five former leaders of a U.S.-based Muslim charity were recently convicted of funding more than $12 million to the Palestinians terrorist group Hamas. The North Texas RCFL supported the investigation - examining approximately 500 computers and an Examiner testified in Federal court. Click here to learn more.

Adam Walsh Child Protection and Safety Act of 2006
This law became effective on July 27, 2006 and in part prohibits the defense or court from ordering the government or police to produce forensically obtained child pornography copies for the defense. They may view it, but the authorities can not be compelled to just hand it over. Go to the link above for the entire law, see section 504 of US Code, title 18, Section 3509.
