04/13/2011: North Texas RCFL Supported Successful Child Pornography Prosecution — Dallas resident Timothy Honnoll, 39, plead guilty in federal court to receiving child pornography, and will serve eight years in prison along with a lifetime of supervised release. The North Texas RCFL provided digital forensics support to the investigation which was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood. According to a press release issued by the FBI's Dallas Division, 600 images and 180 videos of child pornography were found on Honnoll's computer and related storage media.  

11/15/2010: Dallas Man Pleads Guilty to Possessing Child Pornography – North Texas RCFL Examiner Testified at Trial — Monte Melugin, 24, of Dallas faces up to 20 years in prison for receiving child pornography and a $250,000 fine. 10/21/2010: Dallas Man Sentenced for Attempted Bombing of Skyscraper — The North Texas RCFL (NTRCFL) supported the successful investigation of Hosam Smadi, 20, a Jordanian native who plotted to blow up the famed Fountain Place skyscraper in Dallas. Prior to the attempted bombing, the FBI was monitoring Smadi after discovering posts he made on an online Islamic extremist forum. 10/05/2010: Grand Jury Charges Officers – North Texas RCFL Supports Investigation Into Brutality Charges — A motorcycle chase, crash and beating were all caught on videotape recorded by dashboard cameras. Examiners with the North Texas RCFL analyzed the video and now a grand jury has brought felony charges against three Dallas Police Department officers.   Click here for more.

10/05/2010: North Texas RCFL Analyzes Video — Dallas Teen Arrested For Sexual Assault — Thanks in part to video and photographs, a Dallas teenager is in police custody for the beating and sexual assault of a library employee. 05/27/2010: Dallas Teenager Pleads Guilty to Attempted Bombing of Skyscraper — The North Texas RCFL (NTRCFL) supported the successful investigation of Hosam Smadi, 19, a Jordanian native who plotted to blow up the famed Fountain Place skyscraper in Dallas. Prior to the attempted bombing, the FBI was monitoring Smadi after discovering posts he made on an online Islamic extremist forum. Smadi's fate rests in the hands of U.S. District Judge Barbara Lynn, who can either cap his jail term to 30 years or award a full life sentence.   Read the FBI press release.

11/25/2008: Convictions Returned in Terrorist Financing Case — Five former leaders of a U.S.-based Muslim charity were recently convicted of funding more than $12 million to the Palestinians terrorist group Hamas. The North Texas RCFL supported the investigation - examining approximately 500 computers and an Examiner testified in Federal court.   Click here for more.
